CHIROPRACTIC
About your chiropractor
Dominic Ward is a GCC-registered Chiropractor working full-time from his clinic in Sale, South Manchester and part-time in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Whether you are an active adult managing a recurring injury, a footballer returning to training, or someone who simply wants to move without discomfort — every appointment at DK Chiropractic begins the same way: with a proper conversation.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a regulated healthcare profession focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions related to the muscles, joints and nervous system — most commonly back pain, neck pain, headaches and sports injuries. Treatment is hands-on and drug-free, working with the body's natural ability to function and recover. In the UK, all practising Chiropractors must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council — the statutory body that protects patients and maintains professional standards.
If you have never seen a Chiropractor before, you are not alone. Many patients arrive unsure of what to expect. The short answer is: a thorough assessment, an honest explanation of what is happening, and a clear plan of action — all without jargon.
How Dominic got here
Before Chiropractic, Dominic worked in physically demanding roles — factory work, landscaping — the kind of jobs where you feel every hour in your body. It was a shoulder injury during that period that first led him to a Chiropractor. It worked. That experience never left him, and it shapes the way he approaches every patient who walks through the door.
He qualified as a sports therapist in 2007 and, after years working in other fields, returned to that foundation in 2015 — founding his own sports therapy practice before going back into education to pursue Chiropractic at the highest level. He graduated with a Masters of Chiropractic from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, earning a distinction, and has been in clinical practice ever since.
Sporting background
Dominic has played football throughout his adult life, including representing Uttoxeter Town and competing in the FA Vase — a national cup competition that attracts clubs from across the non-league pyramid. He has also provided pitch-side first aid at St George's Park, the national football centre. That background gives him a genuine, first-hand understanding of what active people are trying to get back to — and why it matters.
The approach
Dominic works through a biopsychosocial approach — looking beyond the immediate symptom to understand what is happening in your body and how your lifestyle, stress and daily demands are shaping it. Every session is thorough, unhurried and built around you. You will leave with a clear plan, honest answers, and a real understanding of what comes next.
